Happy New Year! Already we are three days in and time, as always, is rushing past. The festive break has gone by in a flash and I, like so many of you have been unable to see many of my loved ones. However, spring is just around the corner and we can only hope that better times will be coming along too. In the meantime I have a great pile of books to keep me occupied… as well as lots of embroidery projects to work on and TV to snuggle up in front of over the coming weeks. Oh, and I do have to go back to work (but at least that will be from home for the next week).

2020 was an excellent year book wise and I managed to feature well over a hundred on Tales Before Bedtime. I did feel a bit book exhausted towards the end of the year and although I will still be reviewing as many as possible I may look at other ways to also share the book love here on the blog – mix it up a bit rather than just review after review.

Already by reading pile is rather high and I am excited for the prospect of another year of excellent books. In January I have a hand full of blog tours planned. This will kick off tomorrow with The Art of Creativity by Susie Pearl followed later in the week with The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michelle Campbell and Get A Grip, Love by Kate Lucey.

Later in the month will include a spot on the blog tour for the new series by Death in Paradise creator Robert Thorogood. The Marlow Murder Club is being published on the 7th and I’ll be blog touring on the 18th – am very much looking forward to that one. I’m also very excited to be reading C L Taylor’s latest thriller, The Island for my slot on the blog tour on the 19th.

On Thursday the 14th I will also be reviewing what looks to be a wonderful debut, Victoria Park by Gemma Reeves and then also another author new to me, Susannah R Drissi’s Until We’re Fish the 18th… yes it’s going to be a busy month.

Next month I am easing off the blog tours a little. I have quite a pile of books that I am wanting to catch up on and so will be sharing those with you. These include Being Alert by Charlie Laidlow, Dead Rockstars by Guy Mankowski and The Mercenary by Paul Vidich. There are many, many more and I will share them all with you as we go.

I was also very fortunate to receive a great selection of books for Christmas. I am very much looking forward to reading and sharing these with you. I am currently reading Five Little Pigs by the wonderful Agatha Christie.

So that’s all I have to share with you today. It’s currently hailing outside here but I don’t think we’ll be troubled with much snow. It is cold though and the perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoon is curled up with a book so that’s where I’m off to now.
