Have just finished reading ‘White Nights’ by Ann Cleaves. Book 2 in the Shetland novels. It was absorbing and gripping. I love the way she takes you right to the heart of community that she writes about. I can hear the sea and smell the seaweed and bird shit. I can see Jimmy Perez as he investigates murder and lies. It was wonderful to visit and even more wonderful watching him solve the case and unravel the secrets. Am now looking forward to book 3 but first I think it’s time for something a little different.
